Iran film ‘The Ride’ penciled in for Mexico film festival

Iranian film ‘Ride’ directed by Ali Khamehparast-Fard has gained a screening slot for the 2017 edition of Cinepobre Film Festival in Mexico.

"A young man ... hits the streets of Tehran to clear his mind, But soon he finds himself in the role of a taxi driver," plot summary for the film published on a festival website read.

The film cast includes Reza Naji, Shaghayegh Farahani, Bijan Banafshekhah, Amir Hossein Sedigh, Narges Mohammadi, Nima Shahrokh Shahi, among others.

Launched back in 2002, Cinepobre Film Festival is dedicated to independent films and films produced with a relatively low budget.

According to its official website, Cinepobre Film Festival is a 100% self-funded that aims to build bridges based on the belief that film becomes art only when its materials are as inexpensive as pencil and paper.

The 15th edition of Cinepobre Film Festival will be organized on May 4, 2017 in Mexico.
